My name is David Birner and i’m the director/producer/writer of Paladin. I welcome you to my vision of a dark, gritty, brutal tale about revenge and betrayal. This is a original Story in a brand new-never before seen fantasy horror world. It is a grim hazardous world for audiences worldwide to explore and discover. A land beyond your imagination with grotesque creatures, hauntingly beautiful landscapes and strong distinctive characters. This is a visual trip through the eyes of our main protagonist, named Paladin. We solely accompany him on an action packed journey with an unexpected twist.

This is a straight forward R-rated story with no convoluted plot or tons of dialogue.
I want to tell a vivid visual story and therefore our second main character is not human. It is in fact the atmosphere of the movie as it needs to breath in every single frame. The audience needs to feel the horror our Paladin goes through, the obstacles he has to endure and the struggles he must survive. His ferocious journey and ordeal will turn into yours. The ambition is not to orchestrate epic battles or bigger than life sets, instead to focus on handcrafted details and intimate moments. Keep in mind we follow our protagonist all the time. Every. Single. Scene.

My aestethic vision is created by beautiful real life locations which are occasionally enriched with enhanced CGI. Also the design work and practical effects are vital for an absorbing experience. Nevertheless this is a small scale film with minimal cast.
My filmmaking skills taught me how to achieve grand things with a modest budget.
